At CeroSoft, we value your privacy. CircleX Search is built with a privacy-first approach, meaning your search activities, screen captures, and preferences remain completely private and under your control.
1. No Personal Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide an email address to use the App. We do not use any tracking scripts, analytics, or background telemetry.
2. Screen Captures and Deletion
- Temporary Storage Only: When you activate the search overlay and draw a circle, the App captures a temporary image of that specific screen area.
- Auto-Deletion: This temporary image is kept only for the duration of the search. As soon as you draw a new circle or close the search window, the file is immediately and permanently deleted from your computer.
- Crash Protection: If the app is closed unexpectedly, any leftover temporary image files are swept and deleted the next time you start the app. Captures are never sent to CeroSoft.
3. Google Lens Integration
Your selected screen crop is sent directly to Google Lens (lens.google.com) to find your search results. This search runs inside an integrated browser panel on your screen. This interaction is subject to Google's standard Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). CeroSoft cannot see, record, or track your search queries or results.
4. Administrative Permissions & Compliance (Store Rule 10.6.3)
To work seamlessly across all of Windows, the App asks for Administrator privileges when launched. This is required solely to let the search overlay draw on top of administrative tools (like Task Manager) and register your pointer drawing actions.
In strict compliance with Microsoft Store policy 10.6.3:
- Explicit Triggers: The elevated search overlay is only invoked when you manually press your configured shortcut keys (default: Ctrl + Shift + C).
- No Background Execution: The app does not run any hidden or persistent administrative tasks in the background.
- Limited Scope: Administrative rights are used strictly to display the full-screen overlay and capture your screen gestures.
- Clear Disclosure: Users are fully informed of this permission request via this Store description, this Privacy Policy, and the standard Windows User Account Control (UAC) prompt at launch.
5. Browser Data & Local Settings
- Local Browser Profile: The App stores standard browser files (like search cookies) in a local folder on your computer so Google Lens remembers your search language. This data never leaves your device.
- Settings: Your hotkey shortcut preferences are stored in a simple configuration file locally on your computer.
- Clipboard: The App only interacts with your clipboard when you click the "Copy URL" button to copy a search link. It never reads or monitors your clipboard.
6. Children's Privacy
Because CircleX Search does not collect any personal information whatsoever, the App is fully safe for all users and complies with child protection regulations.
